Providing personalised, evidence-based orthopaedic care for hip and knee conditions, including arthritis management, joint replacement surgery, and sports knee injuries.
Dr Mark Inglis is an orthopaedic surgeon with a particular focus on conditions affecting the hip and knee, including arthritis, joint degeneration, sports injuries and orthopaedic. He performs primary and revision joint replacement surgery, robotic-assisted knee surgery, and direct anterior approach hip replacement.
Dr Inglis completed his orthopaedic surgical training in South Australia and has undertaken additional training working alongside national and international surgeons specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty. In addition to his clinical practice, he is a Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery at Flinders University and is involved in research focusing on joint replacement outcomes and enhanced recovery pathways.
Surgical Specialties:
Direct Anterior Hip Replacement (Arthroplasty)
A surgical approach to total hip replacement performed from the front of the hip. This technique works between muscles rather than detaching them and may support early mobilisation and rehabilitation following surgery.
Primary Total Hip Replacement Surgery
Surgical replacement of a damaged or arthritic hip joint to address pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility when non-surgical treatment options are no longer effective.
Revision Hip Replacement Surgery
Surgery considered when a previous hip replacement is no longer functioning as expected, with the aim of addressing pain, instability, or implant-related concerns.
Robotic-Assisted Knee Replacement Surgery
Knee replacement surgery performed with the assistance of robotic technology to support detailed planning and accurate implant positioning tailored to each patient’s anatomy.
Revision Knee Replacement Surgery
Surgery to replace or address components of a previous knee replacement when there is persistent pain, implant wear, loosening, or instability affecting joint function.
Knee Reconstruction Surgery
Surgical procedures performed to address ligament injuries and structural damage within the knee, including ACL and complex instability, following careful clinical assessment and planning.
Sports Knee Injury Surgery
Surgical management of sports-related knee injuries, including ligament tears, cartilage damage and meniscal injury, following comprehensive clinical assessment and imaging.
Adult Orthopaedic Surgery
Surgical management of adult fractures and acute musculoskeletal injuries affecting the hip, knee and lower limb, following careful assessment and treatment planning.

Comprehensive surgical care for hip and knee conditions, including joint replacement and adult management. Treatment is guided by careful assessment, detailed planning, and contemporary surgical techniques tailored to each patient’s clinical needs.
Dr Inglis performs total hip replacement surgery using the direct anterior approach as well as other contemporary surgical techniques, selecting the approach that is most appropriate based on each patient’s anatomy, condition, and functional goals. He utilises detailed pre-operative planning and modern surgical technologies to support accurate implant positioning and joint alignment.
Where suitable, Dr Inglis may use muscle-sparing surgical approaches, which are designed to support early movement and rehabilitation following surgery. His overall focus is on improving joint function, supporting mobility, and assisting patients to return to daily activities safely.
Dr Inglis performs robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery as part of his approach to managing knee arthritis and joint degeneration. Robotic technology supports detailed pre-operative planning and intra-operative guidance, assisting with precise bone preparation and implant positioning tailored to each patient’s anatomy.
Where appropriate, patient-matched planning and kinematic alignment principles may be used to help restore the knee’s natural alignment and soft tissue balance. The overall aim is to support stable joint function, natural movement, and safe recovery following knee replacement surgery.
Dr Inglis manages a range of adult orthopaedic conditions, including fractures and complex joint injuries affecting the hip, knee, and lower limb. Treatment may involve surgical or non-surgical management depending on the type of injury, patient health, and functional requirements. His approach focuses on restoring alignment, joint stability, and supporting safe recovery following injury.
Dr Inglis works closely with hospital teams and allied health providers to assist with rehabilitation and recovery planning. The overall aim of treatment is to support healing, restore mobility, and help patients return to daily activities as safely as possible.
Patient Care extends beyond surgery and includes coordinated rehabilitation, follow-up, and ongoing management where required.
Specialist hip procedures focused on relieving pain, restoring movement, and helping patients return to daily activities with confidence. Treatment is tailored to each patient using contemporary techniques and careful planning to support safe recovery and long-term joint function.
Assessment and management of hip conditions focused on accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment plans, and evidence-based care to relieve pain, improve movement, and support long-term joint health.
“My approach to your orthopaedic care begins with understanding how your symptoms are affecting your daily life and what you would like to achieve from treatment. I will take the time to explain both surgical and non-surgical options clearly, so you can make an informed decision about your care. If surgery is appropriate, I use careful planning and contemporary techniques to support your recovery and help improve your joint function and mobility.”
